The Golf
Probably one of the most well known golf courses in the world, the legendary Old Course and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, deserves its title as the ‘Home of Golf’. With seven links, it’s the largest public golf complex in Europe.
Scotland’s Oldest University
The University of St Andrews is the oldest of Scotland’s universities and the third oldest in the English-speaking world. Founded in the fifteenth century, it’s a beautiful building with a cursed stone, a famous mystical ancient tree and Royal connections.
The Ruins
St Andrews Cathedral, St Andrews Castle and Blackfriars Chapel are all ruins to out on your list to see. Each holds great historical, religious and architectural significance. St Andrews Castle was the official residence of Scotland’s leading bishop throughout the Middle Ages. Our guides will be able to tell you more stories from these buildings
Shopping
St Andrews prides itself on its offering of independent boutique shops and local businesses. Whatever you need, St Andrews has it from stationary and crystals, to fancy cheeses, golf memorabilia, vintage finds, art, sweets, adorable gifts and fashion. They are definitely worth a browse.
The Views
The views and photo opportunities in St Andres are endless. Points to check out include West Sands Beach – as seen in from the film Chariots of Fire, St Rule’s Tower, The Swilcan Bridge, The Botanic Gardens, Craigtoun Country Park
