The loch itself is the second largest Scottish loch covering more than 700 square miles and comprises of several rivers. It’s surrounded by stunning countryside and beautiful scenery that you don’t want to miss.

1. Nessie: The Legendary Loch Ness Monster
Number one our list has to be the one that everyone knows, the Loch Ness Monster!
Sightings of the monster date back to the 16th century when Nessie is said to have swallowed 3 men!
The most famous photograph of the famous monster was taken in 1934 by which turned out to be a hoax but there have many been pictures and stories over the years, our tour guides can tell you a few!
2. Cruise Loch Ness
What better way to see the loch than on it. We highly recommend a Cruise Loch Ness trip. Departing from Fort Augustus at the southern end of Loch Ness, you can see just how immense and spectacular the loch is. Look out for Cherry Island, the loch’s only island and amazing views of Fort Augustus Abbey.

3. Fort Augustus
Fort Augustus, at the south end of Loch Ness is a favourite spot for tourists with its picturesque setting on the Caledonian Canal. It’s a great spot to sit and watch the boats head out into the loch. Look our for the Caledonian Canal Heritage Centre, which provides plenty of information about the construction and history of this major feat of engineering.
